Meet the Owner

McKellar Homes opened its doors in 2019 when owner and operator, Matt, followed his childhood dream to open a construction company. Working alongside his wife, Blair, they facilitate bringing the unique vision of each client to life. McKellar Homes is the culmination of the twenty plus years of dedication to building relationships with some of the best tradesmen in the industry. Matt is well versed in all aspects of the home building process and has a vast range of knowledge in home as well as commercial building.

As a child, Matt Cromartie worked in his family's furniture business in North Carolina and quickly his dream to become a builder was ignited. While pursuing a Construction Management degree at Appalachian State University, he was employed with Vannoy Construction where he learned many aspects of commercial building. After receiving his degree, he began his career as a Superintendent with Denmark Homes of Raleigh, NC. Having spent his childhood summers in Pawleys Island, he made the move there in 2005 to open Denmark Homes, South Carolina Division. He began working with RS Parker Homes in 2009, as Director of Construction North and South Carolina Divisions.
